Today I was absent because I have appointment for Visa, I have already submitted my Music Developmental Workbook yesterday on Wednesday. So now I have completed all the task from music.

Music Reflection 24 - 5 - 2011, Tuesday

Today we performed the jazz group performance, I think my group did well because we have few mistake especially in the tempo after Marco performed his solo. I hope we can get the minimum score of 8 out of 10 because in my opinion we deserve to get high score. After we perform Mr.Herry gave us Music Developmental Workbook, we must submit it on Thursday 26th May 2011.

I will fill in the Music Developmental Workbook today because I have lots of assessments and project that is due on Thursday.

I play Fly Me to The Moon part B, from middle part until it ends. Now my group already agree that we play 3 times before we end the song.

Fly Me to the Moon Part A

In this video I play only half of the song, I think i did it pretty well. The violin is in tune and therefore it's good to be heard.

Today we rehearse the jazz performance again, I think our group did it well. But we had a little problem at the end of the song, we were not sure when we will end the song. However in overall I think we did it well especially me im improving a lot, i memorized the note and I play the violin in tune so it is good to be heard.

In this video I play Fly Me to The Moon Full Song, I think i did it well because i memorized it and the tone is nice to be heard I hope later at the assessment day I can play like this.

In this video i warm up by playing G String Scale, I think i did it well enough. After this song I will play Fly me to the Moon for jazz performance.

Music Reflection 12 - 5 - 2011, Thursday

Today we were told to redo the group singing if we want and also submit the hardcopy of the finale jingle. My group did not redo the singing assessment, because Juan is absent and Frederik's voice is not in tune because he had cough.Then we submitted our finale jingle music after we submit it we were asked to fill in a booklet of our reflection of our final jingle. 20 minutes before the session ends we were asked again to practice the jazz group performance.

Today we saw lots of videos from our own performance with jazz and also last year's class DP ceremony performance. We also gave feedback to the other students music jingle. My finale is not good enough, so later I will fix it.

I will try to get feedbacks from my friend and teachers therefore it will be satisfying.

Today we rehearse the jazz music, as usual my group perform "Fly me to the moon". I think we did it well, however our violin is not in tune so the tone isn't good enough to be heard.

Later I will practice to play Fly Me to The moon again.

Today we discuss about my jingle music they said that my jingle music doesn't match with my topic. After that we saw the performance of Dwi & Angky's singing assessment. They sang "Heal the World" by Michael Jackson. I think they did it pretty well.

I will continue practice to play Fly me to the Moon to perform the Jazz music.

Today we performed the singing group performance. My group sang "We are the world 25 for Haiti" I think we did it well, but i think my voice is too steady and therefore it doesn't have any variations. But Mr.Herry gave us another chance to really make it better, so because of this opportunity I will try my best to perform it well next time.

Today we made a comment about our friend's music jingle finale. I think they all did it well. However some of them must change their topic for their jingle music finale, because some of them doesn't match with their topic. For example their jingle music is for candy advertisement, but the tone and the rhythm of the music doesn't matches.

I hope my jingle music match with my topic which is candy.

Today Mr. Herry gave back our essay reports about genre music. I got 5/8 because i submitted late. After that we submitted our softcopy & hardcopy of our jingle music in finale. I think i did it well but i think it doesn't fit with my topic which is candy.

Later I will figure it out, by maybe adding some notes to fit with my topic which is candy.

Today we submitted our research about music genre, but I haven't submit it because i forgot. However, tomorrow i promise Mr.Herry to sub my essay report. After that Mr.Herry gave us time to practice our jazz music performance, because next week or at Thursday we will rehearse.

I will practice to play " Fly me to the moon " to really fluent it.

Today Mr. Herry showed to us last year's music stundets work. I think they do it well in creating jingle music. And I hope this can help me in creating my own. I hope i can do it well, however i got a little bit problem in my finale. I cannot open my finale.

Today Mr. Herry gave us group task about surveying people's choice in music genre. All violinist is in one group to make the presentation. I hope we can get good results.

I will practice in playing fly me to the moon, because next week I will perform that song.

Today at theory class, the one who haven't do the assessment for 12 bar blues. After that we rehearse again in front of the class the jazz group performance. I think we all confused with the arrangement, therefore the rehearsal does not goes really well.

Today we practice with our group jazz performance. My group practice was arranged
by Mr. Harry. We play "Fly me to the moon" by Frank Sinatra. I hope next term we can perform
well, Mr. Herry postpone the assessment until next week because there are some students already
go for project week.

I will practice to play "Fly me to the moon" better.

12 Bars Blues

In this video i play my 12 bars blues composition, i think i did it well enough. However, i think the song or the beat does not really heard like blues song. i hope i can get the minimum score of 7

Scale String A-E & G-D

In this video I play scale, using string A-E and G-D. I practice scale again, to warm up myself because i have not play violin for 2 weeks therefore i warmth my self first before i play a song.

Today Mr. Herry asked us to fill in the reflection booklet about our blues composition. After that we were taught about chords symbol. We had a split session, so after lunch we come back to Theory Class. Mr. Herry wanted us to sit with our group jazz performance, then Mr.Herry gave us the note to play "Fly me to the Moon". I think it's hard enough for violin.

I will try to play and practice "Fly me to the Moon".

Today Mr.Herry divided us into 3 different groups for jazz group performance. In my group the one who play piano is Victoria & Viena, guitar Lee & Marco, Saxophone/Flute Ivan & Jeffrey and for the violin is me and Frederik. First, Mr. Herry want us to play "I Got Rhythm" however most of us doesn't like the song. Therefore Mr. Herry changed it into "Fly me to the Moon" as our jazz group song. I think most of us satisfy with the new songs.

I will practice to play "Fly me to the Moon" with my violin, because before I never play that song.

Today I submitted 12 bars blues own composition, I submitted today because at my finale is not working. Then we performed our 12 bars blues. I think we all did it well, however i think the tempo is too fast for violin. I hope i can get satisfying score, and try to get better score at the next assessments.

I will practice in playing with beats, so i can play violin that is supervised by other instruments.

Today we submitted our 12 bars composition blues, however i haven't submit it because i haven't authorized the finale yet. But i asked Frederik to make my finale. After submitting 12 bars blues finale. We rehearse to play jazz in front of the class, I think i did it well however i need to follow the beat so it will be heard well. I hope i can do well at the assessment

Today at theory class, we listen to every student's 12 blues bars composition. I think we all did it well, however i got feedback from Mr.Herry that i need too put higher note therefore there will be more variations. I hope i can do it well in improvising and perform it with my violin.

I will improve my composition therefore i can have a better song to be heard.

Today we submitted our blues 12 bars, after that we continue our singing assessment. I got my turn and it was the first performer. I think when i perform i did it well, however at the end i lost my voice for a while. I hope i can get the minimum score of 7.

I will improve on my voice at my next singing assessment because i cannot reach high pitch when i did my previous assessment,

In play warming up from string AE, DE and GD. I usually do this warming up in string ensemble club, so when we play songs we can play better and can produce soft sound of violin

In this video i practice to play a song called Can Can, I think i did it well however in this video i forgot some of the lyrics. I hope i play better next time, therefore i can perform well later at the concert

Today we did our assessment for singing assessment, we sing jazz music that we chose. I chose What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong. However, I didn't get the turn because the time is up. Therefore i will perform for my assessment next week. I hope i can do well in my assessment next week.

I will try to practice singing for my assessment, and also i will practice for violin.

Today Mr. Herry distributed us a handout about Jazz. Then, we were taught about Blues scale to prepare for our next task which is a 12 bar blues composition. We wrote which chords to use in our notebook. Then, we were given examples of how to fill it in. I think its a little bit confusing, but I need to know it well later.

I will practice to sing my jazz music that I chose, I chose What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.

Today we did our singing assessment "I Got Rhythm". Before we start to do our singing assessment we should fill in the reflection of the essay that I made. After we prepare for our. Before my turn to sing for the assessment we must fill the reflection for what have i prepared and explain the background of this music. After we finished we also must do the reflection about what do we think about our singing assessment.

I will try to sing in a high pitch later if the song is like "I Got Rhythm. Then I need to think for a song for my next singing assessment which is next week.

Today, only some the students attend music class because some of them had to do ISA. So, they were excused from music class. Therefore at theory time, we sang "I Got Rhythm" I think i did it well enough and i hope i can do well in the assessment day. After that Mr.Hery told us to do an essay about "Jazz and its role in society"for about 1000 words and submit it on 8th February.

I will improve in singing "I Got Rhythym" therefore i can get good score for my assessment in singing, i also need to do the essay so i can get good marks in the homework part.

In this video i try to practice jazz scales, such as ionian, dorian, phrygian, lydian, myxolydian, aeolian and locrian by using violin instruments. I think i did it well enough but i dont know whether the sound will be good or not

In this video I played a song, that we will going to perform next two weeks in string ensemble club.
I think i did it quite well in the first and middle part, however i haven't try to play the ending part because i need to practice more to play the ending part.

Today we submit our essay about jazz. After Mr.Hery finished collecting all the essay we discussed about jazz modes and practice in try to guest and answer which modes is Mr.Hery playing in his piano. Then we had a break to have our lunch, then at our second session we directly go to instruments class. At the instrument class we play the jazz scale and discuss how to improve it in the violin.

I will improve on my skill in playing the jazz modes and i will try to play violin more fluently. I will also make my blog on time and also the videos
